The bachelorette season finale jenn tran full recap: Jenn Tran Got Engaged

Marcus Schoberg and Devin Strader remained as the Season 21 finale began, but The Bachelorette went solo.

Bachelorette Jenn Tran’s journey came to an unexpected conclusion on the Season 21 finale of The Bachelorette on Tuesday, Sept. 3, on ABC. But once a decision was made between Houston freight company owner Devin Strader and Miami-based veteran and entrepreneur Marcus Schoberg, things took a shocking turn.

Jane, 26, and her crush Devin, 28, got engaged in Hawaii after Jane proposed but broke up after returning home.

“He was making bold declarations of love and then all of a sudden the next day he was like, nothing and he denied ever being in love,” Jane told host Jesse Palmer during Final Rose. “All the promises he made to me, all the love he wanted to give me is gone.”

Read on for a full recap of the episode, engagement details and the devastating way Jane and Devin’s engagement ended a month before the season finale.

Bachelor Nation Weighs In

Bachelor Nation members react to Jane’s dramatic season finale.
Sam McKinney, who faced backlash for calling out Devin’s behavior during season 21 of The Bachelorette, shared his thoughts on Devin and Jen’s engagement ending after the finale.

Reposting a post on her Instagram Stories that read, “When you know the worst person was actually right,” alongside a photo of Sam M, she wrote, “Hahaha ok this is funny. “

In the next video, he was sitting in front of his TV with his hands over his mouth, seemingly engaged in an on-screen confrontation between Devin and Jane. His next post read: “Always had Team Sam and never thought he was the worst (he was actually my top pick). “Hold on,” Sam captioned it, “Forever.”

Thomas N., who was also criticized for putting his energy into arguing with Devin, posted a photo of Devin on his Instagram Stories and wrote, “Damn. Referencing Sam M’s catchphrase all season long.” The main thing should have been the main thing.
She also posted a clip of herself sipping tea and quietly gazing into the camera.

A Golden Sneak

The evening couldn’t end on that sad note, so Jesse wraps things up with a sneak peek at John Vassos’ journey on The Golden Bachelorette.

In the clip, Bachelor alum Kelsey Anderson gets out of the limo and tells John about her father, Mark Anderson. “I think you’ll probably all get along,” she said as she stepped out of her fan-favorite dad’s limo.

“I love you dad. Have a great time,” Kelsey said.

“As a father, I raised my children and I wanted them to experience life, not to say no because they were afraid to take a chance. And now here I am taking a chance for myself. Finding love again, and I’m proud to have been a part of your journey.”

Jenn and Devin Watch Their Proposal

After that tense back-and-forth and countless tears, The Bachelorette went ahead with the actual proposal, which was awkward to watch.

“Jane, I love you with all my heart, and that’s a feeling I never want to let go of,” Devon said.

“You were always a constant, our love was always there, and I never doubted for a second how much you loved me,” Jane said. “I love you so much, Devin, but I can’t let you propose to me. I’ve decided to choose myself on this journey, and the best version of myself is when I’m with you.” “

“I want to fight for you every day,” she continued. “You are everything I ever dreamed of but didn’t know I could have. I want to wake up and choose you every day for the rest of my life.”

He then proposed in the Seychelles with a wedding band. “Exactly,” he said, “a hundred times.”

Devon then proposed anyway – “Will you make me the happiest man and marry me?” – and they shared a passionate embrace.

Back in the studio, Jessie reminds Jane how empowered she was in that moment.

“I made a lot of promises and I totally believed them at the time,” Dion admitted, calling the split “one-sided.”

“That man loved you,” she added. “I understand that I have not been able to fulfill the promises I made to you.”

“I hope you know that the weight of your words matters,” she said.

Jesse then concludes that he knows Jane will find the great love she is looking for.
