Tickets for Oasis, the biggest rock band to come out of the UK in the last 30 years, go on sale in advance in the UK and Ireland on Friday afternoon, ahead of a general sale on Saturday which will satisfy huge demand.
The Oasis Live ’25 tour kicks off next summer on July 4 in Wales, with the band playing around 20 dates in the UK and Ireland. It’s an eagerly awaited reunion between the brothers and Oasis frontmen Noel and Liam Gallagher, who broke up in 2009 and had a rocky relationship. Serving fans one of the “hottest tickets of the decade” is a tall order for distribution giant Ticketmaster.

The pre-sale will go live for applicants who have received an email confirming their access. However, “success at the ballot will not guarantee tickets,” Oasis warned on its Instagram, adding that tickets “will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.”
Ahead of Saturday morning’s general on-sale on Ticketmaster, the Oasis website asked fans to “sign up with official ticket agents ahead of time as websites will be very busy during the official on-sale.” Tickets will also be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and only four tickets will be available for purchase per transaction.
Big concert tickets, especially those sold on Ticketmaster, can spark anger and anxiety among fans, especially after Taylor Swift’s massive 2022 debacle.
Ticketmaster’s site became overloaded as fans tried to buy pre-sale tickets, and demand was so high that Ticketmaster eventually canceled public sales of the shows. Swift was furious, calling the defeat “annoying to me”.
In the US, the failure prompted a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in 2023, designed to examine the lack of competition in the ticketing industry. The hearing gave committee members and others an opportunity to express Ticketmaster’s power over the industry.
Earlier this year, America launched a landmark antitrust lawsuit against Ticketmaster parent company Live Nation’s grip on event ticket sales. The long-awaited lawsuit involved 30 state and district attorneys general, challenging the nation’s largest ticketing website and concert promoter, which regulators accused of masterminding a scheme to stifle competition. LiveNation called the DOJ’s allegations “baseless” in a previous statement.
However, it will take years for the case to make its way through the court system. Prosecutors are seeking a jury trial and the breakup of the company.
